Ryan Finstad is an independent investor and serial entrepreneur with broad experience in launching and scaling ventures – from self-funded startups to private equity and venture-backed businesses. Drawing inspiration from his father, a commercial fisherman in Alaska, he feels a deep connection to the ocean and to maritime culture. He currently focuses on managing a portfolio of private investments and pursuing new opportunities in small-scale private equity.

Ryan has an eclectic background, having spent seven years as an expatriate in Shanghai and a year living aboard his sailboat in the Eastern Caribbean. He is fluent in Mandarin and has an M.S. in Supply Chain Management from the University of San Diego. A licensed captain and avid sailor, Ryan draws on experience in strategy, operations, and business growth to support innovative ventures in the blue economy.
