Dr. Raphael is a computer scientist by training and author of a dozen scientific publications on data integration, ontologies and workflow systems. He spent over a decade developing software in industry and academia prior to shifting his focus to the energy industry and the application of information technology to risk management, quantitative finance, and digital transformation. He led digital & business transforma on for Duke Energy, EDF Renewables and Origis Energy focusing on rapid execution of Digital

Strategy covering Mobility, Enterprise Systems, Data Analytics and AI tools.

 

He is currently the Chief AI Officer for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), leading its AI strategy across the globe including Open Power AI consortium and Emerging Technologies Platform. Dr. Raphael earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, a Master of Computer Science from Claude Bernard University in Lyon-France, PhD in Computer Science from National Institute of Applied Sciences Lyon, France (INSA de Lyon) and an MBA focused on Quantitative Finance from University of California, San Diego. Dr. Raphael is a passionate technologist who believes that one of the biggest challenges for our generation stands in building cleaner, reliable and affordable energy solutions that power our civilization on today and preserve our planet for future generations.
